Project Woosh: Stage 1

An aerospace initiative by Tringledo Starlight, aiming to advance Sri Lanka's capabilities in atmospheric research and aerospace technology.

Atmospheric ResearchWeather BalloonControlled DescentSri Lanka

Project Objectives

  • Collect atmospheric data (temperature, pressure, humidity) up to 20 km altitude
  • Capture high-resolution images of Sri Lanka from near-space
  • Validate an innovative controlled descent mechanism for payload recovery

Key Features

  • Controlled descent mechanism using servo motors and a tension-adjustable parachute system
  • Advanced payload systems with environmental sensors and high-definition camera
  • Real-time tracking & telemetry with GPS and radio transmission

Launch Details

  • Location:

Royal International School, Theliyagonna, Kurunegala, Sri Lanka

  • Target Altitude:

    20 km (stratosphere)

  • Expected Travel Distance:

~50 km from launch site (depends on wind conditions)

Innovative Descending Mechanism

Our pioneering controlled descent technology ensures precise payload recovery at a designated location, reducing risk of data loss.

  • Precision landing within 1-3 km radius of target zone
  • Scalable technology for future CubeSats and space missions
  • Backup RC navigation for manual control if needed
